// LEGAL — THE RULES OF THE ROAD
Terms of Use
LAST UPDATED: 5 OCTOBER 2026
These terms cover the Groundrush app, the website groundrush.io and the optional Groundrush account. They are short on purpose. What happens to your data is in the privacy policy; these terms are about what you and we can expect of each other.
Groundrush is free. By creating an account or uploading a track you accept these terms. If you do not, you can still use the app without an account.
A training aid, not a certified instrument
Groundrush reads the data your FlySight records and works out figures from it: exit and deployment, speeds, glide, wind-corrected values, segment times and the rest. Those figures are estimates. They depend on GPS accuracy, on detection rules that can misread a jump, and on wind data from a public weather service that may be wrong or missing for your place and time.
- Do not use Groundrush for safety decisions — not in the air, and not when deciding what to jump next. Your altimeter, your training and your instructors come first.
- It is not certified for anything. It is not a competition measuring device, and its numbers are not official results for any competition, record or rating.
- Analysis, firmware, the HUD and the website are provided as they are, without any promise that they are correct, complete, available or fit for a particular purpose.
Your account
- An account is optional. You sign in with Google or Apple; keep that account secure, because whoever controls it controls your Groundrush account.
- One account per person, for yourself.
- Your username is public. Do not choose one that pretends to be someone else, belongs to a brand you do not represent, or is offensive.
- An account has storage limits, shown in your profile.
Your tracks and what you post
Your tracks, titles, photo and profile stay yours. You give us permission to store them, process them to provide the service — analysis, wind lookup, the flight figures in the lists — and, for anything you make public, to show it to anyone on the website. That permission ends when you delete the track or your account, except for copies other people already downloaded, cached copies that expire within minutes, and the copies kept after account deletion if you agreed to that when deleting it (see the privacy policy).
- Upload only tracks you recorded, or that you have the right to share.
- Every track is private until you make it public. A public track is open to anyone, without signing in. It shows the date and time of the jump, the dropzone and the shape of the path. It is listed in the public feed and on your profile page. Think before you publish a jump you would not want others to see.
- Do not publish other people's personal information in titles, usernames or photos.
Acceptable use
Do not use Groundrush to:
- post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or violent, or anything that infringes someone else's rights;
- pretend to be someone else, or publish another person's jumps as your own;
- upload files that are not flight tracks, or that are meant to harm the service or other people;
- add dropzones or wingsuits to the shared lists that do not exist, or under offensive or misleading names;
- get around the storage limits or the sign-in, probe for weaknesses, or put a load on the service that gets in the way of other users;
- collect other users' data from the website in bulk.
Reports and moderation
Anyone can report a public track or profile with “Report this page” on it, a dropzone or wingsuit from the shared lists with “Report” next to it, or by writing to support@groundrush.io. We do not check content before it is published, but we look at every report, usually within 7 days.
If something breaks these terms or the law, we may take a public track off public view, block the account (all of its tracks become private, its profile page is no longer served, and uploads, profile edits, catalogue additions and reports are refused; signing in, downloading and deleting still work), or, for serious or repeated breaches, close the account. Where we can, we tell you what we did and why, and you can write to us if you think we got it wrong.
Ending things
- You can delete any track, or your whole account, at any time from your account. What that deletes, and what happens to the tracks if you agree to keep them, is in the privacy policy. You can download everything first with Export my data.
- We may close an account that breaks these terms, as described above. Groundrush is a small, free project, and the service may change or stop. If we close the account service, we will give notice in advance where we can, so you can export your data first.
- Keep your own copies of tracks that matter to you. The original files stay on your FlySight and your phone until you delete them there.
Liability
Groundrush is provided free and as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from using it or from relying on its figures, or from data that is lost or unavailable. Nothing here limits any liability or any consumer right that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
If these terms change, this page changes, and the date at the top says when. If a change matters for your account, we say so on the website before it applies. Using an account after a change means accepting the new terms; if you do not, you can delete the account.
