// FLYSIGHT 2 GUIDE · BLUETOOTH TRACK TRANSFER
Download FlySight 2 tracks over Bluetooth
TESTED ON REAL HARDWARE · UPDATED 20 AUGUST 2026
Groundrush connects directly to a FlySight 2 and copies its recordings to an Android phone or iPhone. The transfer stays between the logger and the phone: there is no Groundrush account, cloud upload or laptop in the middle.
The full path has been tested on Android. A 1.1 MB jump transferred in about 32 seconds on the device we tested. Bluetooth discovery, pairing and live telemetry have also been confirmed on iPhone; track transfer on iPhone still needs its own field run.
What you need
- A FlySight 2 running firmware with Bluetooth file access.
- Groundrush on Android or iOS. The app is currently in closed beta; request access at [email protected].
- Bluetooth enabled. On Android 11 and older, location services and the location permission must also be enabled or BLE scanning silently returns no devices.
Pair the FlySight 2
- Unplug the USB cable. While the FlySight is mounted as a USB drive, its firmware blocks Bluetooth file access.
- Open Groundrush and select the Device tab.
- From idle, double-press the FlySight button. Its green LED pulses during the roughly 30-second pairing window.
- Select the FlySight shown in Groundrush and accept the operating system's pairing prompt.
Copy a jump to the phone
- On the connected-device screen, open Tracks on the device.
- Wait while Groundrush reads the recording list. The newest sessions appear first.
- Select a recording and start the transfer. You can cancel safely: an incomplete file is not added to the library.
- Open the downloaded track from the Tracks tab for automatic segment detection, charts and 3D replay.
What real-device testing found
- 125 sessions listed in about 40 seconds.
- A 1.1 MB recording copied at roughly 33 KB/s in about 32 seconds.
- Cancelling midway left no partial track in the library, and the next transfer still completed normally.
- Only one phone can hold the FlySight connection at a time. Close Groundrush on the first phone before handing the logger to another.
If the FlySight does not appear
- Confirm it is not plugged into USB and is inside its pairing window.
- Turn on Bluetooth and, where Android requires it, location services.
- Close any other phone or app already connected to the logger.
- If Bluetooth support is missing from the installed firmware, update the device before trying again. The Groundrush browser flasher is specifically for the custom ENGO HUD firmware; the official FlySight firmware page carries the official releases.
